In 2022, the Toledo Plastic Modelers invited the IPMS/Fremont KitBashers chapter to participate in joint exhibitions that were held at two public library buildings.  During these exhibitions we began discussions about the possibility of joining forces to hold a plastic modeling competition in Northwest Ohio, which we hadn't done since 2006.  Following those joint exhibitions, in April 2023 we began to plan seriously to host the show.

Rick Geithmann reserved the venue for the show, as well as reservations for overnight attendees and vendors.  Mark McGovern secured a date on the IPMS/USA events calendar (inadvertently becoming the chairman for the show).  A planning committee was formed, which includes:  Rick, Jim Drew, Dale Mason, and Jerry Wesolowski from the Toledo Plastic Modelers, along with Mark, Michael Edwards, and Pete Misciasci from the Fremont KitBashers.

We survived our first show in 2024.  Building on what we learned from our first Model Con 419, we've made improvements that you will see at the next one, on Saturday, May 24, 2025 - still at the Quality Inn, Perrysburg!
